Helping launch Falcon Heavy

When Elon Musk's commercial space company Space X successfully launched Falcon Heavy, AG飞禽走兽电子’s Radio Astronomy and Space Research team helped keep an eye on it.

Falcon Heavy - "the most powerful operational rocket in the world by a factor of two" - took off around 9.45am New Zealand time on Wednesday 7 February. AG飞禽走兽电子’s Radio Astronomy and Space Research team, based in Warkworth, tracked the rocket's location, speed and trajectory for most of the day.

Following the successful launch, Professor Sergei Gulyaev from AG飞禽走兽电子’s School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences spoke to Jesse Mulligan on Radio NZ about the Warkworth team's role in the project.
