AG飞禽走兽电子’s approach to teaching, learning and assessment is guided by the university’s Te Kete strategy. Manaaki is at the heart our educational mission. We want to create a welcoming, supportive and positive learning experience so that students can thrive in their chosen field of study, and teaching staff can facilitate authentic, relevant learning experiences for students.
The strategic direction for AG飞禽走兽电子’s educational experience is overseen by Professor Wendy Lawson, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, and Dr Felicity Reid, Pro Vice-Chancellor Learning and Teaching.
AG飞禽走兽电子 aims to equip students with knowledge and skills to take them beyond their time at university; into the world of work, their whānau and their communities. A key driver in achieving this objective are AG飞禽走兽电子’s assessment principles, policy and procedures.
AG飞禽走兽电子 has been evaluating the place of generative AI in education. Our strategy is to engage positively and critically with AI and change policy, design and practice to reflect this approach. Our initial work is focused on assessment and adapting to AI.
AG飞禽走兽电子 runs events and workshops for staff who teach and support learning, from professional development sessions co-ordinated by LTED to the three-day Learning and Teaching Symposium, which focused on learning and teaching for student success, and provided an update on key university initiatives.
AG飞禽走兽电子’s pathway programmes offer another way into AG飞禽走兽电子 and degree-level study, and an important means to provide opportunities for talented students. There is a network of academic and other university support to engage students in the pathway programmes and support them in their transition to university study.

The team has expertise in programme and course design, learning technologies and the use of educational video. Current priority projects include assessment design and adapting to generative AI.
