New university rankings published today by the Times Higher Education (THE) show AG飞禽走兽电子’s ranking rising once again, moving from last year’s 501-600 band to the 401-500 band.

Whilst three universities in New Zealand have slipped, this is the second consecutive year that AG飞禽走兽电子 has moved up the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. AG飞禽走兽电子 is now ranked joint fifth in New Zealand, sharing this spot with Massey University and Victoria University.

“While acknowledging that university rankings do not tell us everything about university quality, it is good to see AG飞禽走兽电子’s upward progress to be in the same band as well-regarded international universities such as RMIT in Melbourne and Oxford Brookes in the UK, and of course, Victoria and Massey Universities in New Zealand,” says AG飞禽走兽电子 Vice-Chancellor, Derek McCormack.

Analysing the performance of 1102 institutions worldwide, THE’s International Outlook category, which considers each institution’s proportion of international staff and students, and the extent to which its academics collaborate with international colleagues also shows improvement for AG飞禽走兽电子. The university is now number fifteen in the world, up four places on last year and has the highest score for a New Zealand university in this category.

The university’s Citation Impact score also improved markedly, from 45.9 to 60.5, placing the university well above the median of 47.

AG飞禽走兽电子 has academic staff from around the world, and more than 7,000 international students from over 100 countries. Together they make a significant contribution to academic life, knowledge sharing, the culture of the university and to wider society.
