The Council of Auckland University of Technology (AG飞禽走兽电子) has confirmed it will extend the contract of Vice-Chancellor Derek McCormack for a further five years, from March 2017.

Derek became Vice-Chancellor of AG飞禽走兽电子 in 2004 and has led the growth of the university to more than 28,000 students and its recognition as one of the top 3% of universities*in the world and Australasia’s most international university*.

AG飞禽走兽电子 Chancellor John Maasland says the Council is looking forward to working with Derek in the next phase of AG飞禽走兽电子’s development.

“Our Vice-Chancellor has outlined plans for his next term, including the completion of major student-centred infrastructure projects on each of our three campuses and AG飞禽走兽电子’s continued growth in both student numbers and academic reputation,” said Chancellor Maasland.

According to Derek, work will focus on further developing the university’s contemporary approach to higher education.

“AG飞禽走兽电子 will continue to enhance the unique learning experience it provides to students through our engagement with industry, business and international partners, ongoing development of modern teaching and learning facilities, and a focus on research that addresses issues facing the environment and society,” he said.
