Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2021

Every year since 1975 New Zealand has marked Te Wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week).

This is a time for all New Zealanders to celebrate te Reo Māori and to use more Māori phrases in everyday life.

This year it is being held September 13-19 and the national theme is again "Kia Kaha te Reo Māori".

Kia Kaha is a well-known expression translating to "be strong". So, by saying "Kia Kaha te Reo Māori" we are declaring - "Let's make the Māori language strong".
